LawrenceHudsonLawrence O’Dell Hudson was born in Oktaha, Oklahoma and came from a long line of preachers on the maternal side of his family. After receiving his high school diploma with the Class of 1956 at DuBois High School, Pastor Hudson earned his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science from California State University at Los Angeles and his master’s degree in Public Administration from Texas Southern University. He also completed an eight-month course with the Leadership Institute of Memphis. Pastor Hudson served four years in the United States Air Force and was honorably discharged. He retired from Federal Service after 34 years as a Personnel Staffing Specialist.

Pastor Hudson’s walk with the Lord began after receiving his Diploma of Theology, Bachelors of Theology and Masters of Theology at the Tennessee School of Religion in Memphis, TN. For the past 30 years, Pastor Hudson has been the first and only pastorate at Monument of Love Baptist Church (The Church that Loves to Love With A Mind for Ministry and Missions), which he retired from in April 2014. He is also the first African-American member of the Executive Board of the Tennessee Baptist Convention where he was also Chairman for six consecutive years and a member of the Convention Ministries Committee. From 1994 until 1997, Pastor Hudson served as a member of the Religious Affairs Advisory Board at Union University after being voted Bi-Vocational Pastor of the Year two years prior in 1992.

Pastor Hudson is married to Norris Lee Rhodes Hudson. He currently serves as a board member of Baptist Collegiate Ministries of Memphis. He is also a very active in the Shelby Baptist Association of Churches where he was also past president of the African-American Council of Churches.

 

NormanHudsonNorris Lee Hudson was born in Kinston, N.C After graduating from Adkin High School, Mrs. Hudson attended Houston Community College in Houston, TX and was an Adjudicator for the Veterans Administration prior to relocating to Memphis, TN. After relocating, she attended Shelby State Community College, now known as Southwest Tennessee Community College. She also became a Certified Literacy Missions Associate for youth and children tutoring at Samford University in Birmingham, Alabama and for adult reading and writing at Oklahoma Baptist University in Shawnee, Oklahoma.

Mrs. Hudson was past president of Whitehaven District ministers' wives. She was also past president of African American ministers' wives at the Shelby Baptist Association and conference leader for African-American ministers’ wives at the Black Church Leadership Conference in Nashville, TN, which are both affiliates of the Tennessee and Southern Baptist Convention. She served as the She was also the first African-American elected to serve on the Mississippi River Ministries.

Mrs. Hudson is married to Pastor Lawrence O'Dell Hudson. She also serves as Literacy Workshop Leader, for the entire State of Tennessee and Civilian Liaison for Army Depot in Memphis, TN.
